Reference Guide for Future SWAP Presidents
THE TIME IS NOW......to form a state wireless association in your home state. These local groups symbolize a spirit of unity that is sweeping across America. Wireless associations have gained significant momentum in recent years with the initial success of the Tennessee Wireless Association. Since 2001, this has led to establishing similar groups in the neighboring states of Alabama and Georgia. Today, Florida, Louisiana/Missisippi, North Carolina/South Carolina are the latest states to launch these efforts as well as numerous states planning their own associations. These associations are comprised of members from all sectors of the wireless industry -- carriers, site providers, tower companies, equipment vendors, construction companies, legal and other consultants.
THE MISSION.....is to promote positive wireless industry awareness. The companies within these local associations have joined forces to educate local and state public officials about the role of the wireless industry and its benefits; to cultivate relationships between the various members of the industry; to strengthen the relationships between the industry and the local communities they serve; and to ensure the continued growth and development of the wireless industry within their state. |
